Thursday March 17th 2017 marked the latest Kent Charity Awards event, aiming to showcase the hard work and perseverance that charities and voluntary groups undertake to make the lives of others better.
Founder & CEO, Patrick Cantellow, nomination read: “Patrick Cantellow single-handedly set up Swale Young People, a charity with the prime objective to encourage young people in Swale to engage in social action and volunteering within their local community. Patrick works closely with Swale Borough Council and a local CC Brogdale and secured funding for a skatepark in Sittingbourne.”
The worthy winner of Volunteer of the Year went to Lorraine Brown for her work with The Alzheimer’s Society and Medway Dementia Action Alliance. Other finalists included Beverley Nolker who runs the local ADHD Sheppey Support Group and ADHD conference for Isle of Sheppey.
